This six-session online course provides a practical introduction to Machine Functional Safety and the SISTEMA software, covering the essential aspects of BS EN ISO 13849-1. Attendees will develop a clear understanding of safety standards, risk assessment techniques, and how to verify and validate safety functions in machine design.

Course Structure

Session 2: Risk Assessment

  • Understanding risk assessment
  • Practical application using interactive worksheets

Session 3: Functional Safety (Simplified Method)

  • Introduction to BS EN ISO 13849-1
  • Applying the simplified method to safety functions

Session 4: Functional Safety (Detailed Method)

  • Safety-related block diagrams and circuit analysis
  • Understanding Cook Books and IFA reports

Session 5: SISTEMA Software

  • Hands-on walkthroughs of SISTEMA software
  • Creating SISTEMA files for machine safety

Session 6: Verification and Validation

  • Safety function validation plans
  • Final review and feedback

Certification

This course does not lead to a formal qualification, but it provides structured learning and hands-on practical experience to improve safety practices in machine design and operation. For certified training, consider CFSAT & CFSAE courses.

This course runs six sessions, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, over six weeks:

  • Session 3 (Functional Safety - Simplified Method): 27th March
  • Session 4 (Functional Safety - Detailed Method): 1st April
  • Session 5 (SISTEMA Software): 10th April
  • Session 6 (Verification & Validation): 17th April

Outcomes

Upon completing this Functional Safety & SISTEMA Training, participants will:
