This is our intermediate level Power BI course. It is designed for people who have some experience with MS Power BI Desktop. It builds on our Get Started with Power BI (Beginners) course.
The course is built around Power BI Desktop - you need your own copy (free from Microsoft). Like all our Power BI courses, we put a lot of emphasis on practical, hands-on activities in Power BI Desktop.
Course content includes:
- Quick refresh - importing data from MS Excel and why the format matters.
- Building more complex reports.
- Multiple data sources - not just Excel.
- Connecting tables - building relationships.
- Doing more with DAX and Measures.
- Report design - understand your audience.
- Sharing reports via the online Power BI service - data refresh & permissions.
The course is designed so that you:
- Strengthen your Power BI data analysis skills.
- Learn how to use DAX to build more sophisticated reports in Power BI.
- Know how to create interactive Power BI reports that make it easy for people to explore complex datasets and understand the insights that come from your data analysis.
Prerequisites
To get maximum value from the course you need to have reasonable MS Excel skills. You should know how to use Power BI Desktop to:
